Cottage sleeping 4 plus cot
July/ Aug £375
June/ Sept £245
Rest £170

La Maison Bleue is a traditional stone semi-detached Breton cottage located right on the edge of the small village of Treal near Malestroit, in Southern Brittany, France. The location offers peace and quiet in a tranquil setting.

Sleeps four in two bedrooms plus cot. Radiators throughout.

The property boasts all of it`s original features including its majestic fireplace and huge oak beams. To complement this we have sympathetically renovated it and brought it right up to date and perfect for twenty first century living.

In this luxury cottage everything is brand new from the electrics and plumbing to the leather settees and flat screen LCD TV. It`s fully equipped from top to bottom for all your needs and has been fully redecorated and hung with a selection of contemporary art.

The house`s location makes it the perfect holiday spot for those wanting both the idyllic tranquility of rural France together with the option of getting out and about cycling, walking or visiting the nearby towns and beaches.

The village of Treal with its restaurant, bars, church, village shop (with fresh baguettes etc) is within a one minute flat walk. Bleue itself, is the last but one house in the village.

The nearest large towns are Ruffiac and mediaeval Malestroit, about ten minutes away. Here you will find banks, supermarkets and restaurants in abundance. For more info see the Local Towns link on the Things to Do page

Ground floor
The house has a large lounge dining room designed around an impressive Breton fireplace. The floor is newly tiled and huge traditional oak beams hold up the ceiling.

Two large comfy leather settees make up the lounge area and surround the LCD flat-screen TV which has receives UK Free view channels (BBC, ITV etc, etc). There is also a DVD/CD player so you can bring your favourite films and to watch and play your CD`s.

To one side of the room is the dining table and chairs.

Its a great place to relax as the sun pours in through the two large windows

The next room on the ground floor is the spacious fully fitted kitchen with an impressive double height sloping ceiling which allows extra light to pour through from a third window on the first floor. There is a huge especially commissioned painting up above the cooker. Double, state of the art centre lights create a fantastic ambience in the room. The fully fitted kitchen includes a gas cooker/oven, fridge freezer, dishwasher, microwave, toaster and washing machine.

The below photo is taken from a bit higher up the double height kitchen. The second floor window is to the left (& up a bit) out of shot

There is also a shower room and WC on the ground floor

Take time to have a coffee & croissant....

First floor
Upstairs there is the hall which leads to the two bedrooms

The oak floor supports original oak beams which rise up through the ceilings.

Bedroom one has a double bed, wardrobe, shelving, chest of drawers (mostly these are out of shot to the left on the below photo)

The second bedroom has two single beds plus furniture in it

The gardens are fenced in and the entrance gated.

To the front of the house is a grassed and graveled seating area complete with outside furniture with a BBQ

To the left side of the house there is a large additional large grassed garden with views. There is an empty outbuilding in the garden. The house is actually surrounded on three sides by its gardens so even when the sun moves you are guaranteed not to miss a ray !

Below photo shows the view towards the road side of the house from the lounge window.

The road that the house is on is quiet and leads off into the countryside in one direction and into the heart of the village in the other. See below photo which shows the village in the distance.

Click on the triangular arrow in the centre of the picture below to see a short movie of the house, don't forget to turn your speakers on !

The wisteria at Bleue is at its best in the spring !!!

Below is the restaurant at Treal (200m away- see below photo) which being quite `countrified`and very French is open at lunchtime only and doesen`t actually have a menu. Just go in and see what arrives. We`ve never been disappointed. It`s 10 Euros for 4-5 courses including a bottle of cider and a bottle of red. It`s nothing flash but it`s `Real France` you want then this is the place for you.
If you want something with a menu then go to the restaurant at Reminiac or Monteneuf (two minutes away). Open every lunch time and evening except Monday. See the restaurant page for more info and photos and for loads more places to eat.

Below is another angle of Bleue !
