La
Maison Jaune is a Sixteenth century farmhouse located just outside the
village of Reminiac near Malestroit in Southern Brittany. The gite,
which is semi detached, offers peace, quiet and spectacular views across
unspoilt rolling countryside. Sleeps four in two bedrooms. There is a
cot & highchair.
The location of the house makes it the perfect holiday spot for those wanting both the idyllic tranquility of rural France together with the option of getting out and about to visit the nearby towns, restaurants and sandy beaches. The nearest village is about 1km & has a general store (including fresh baguettes and cakes), restaurant and bars. The nearest town is mediaeval Malestroit, about seven minutes away. Here you will find banks, supermarkets and restaurants. For more info see the Local Towns link on the Things to Do page. La Maison Jaune`s hamlet comprises of just five houses, and one farm, usually only three of which are occupied. The track (two photos at the bottom of this page) which leads to the house peters out into fields about 200 yards past the house. The locality is excellent for walking and cycling with dozens of lanes, paths and tracks running throughout the countryside (we're also told it’s a great spot for bird watchers (hawks, buzzards and eagles are all here)). We especially recommend a lunchtime stroll to the restaurant in Reminiac– about fifteen minutes walk down deserted country lanes. A marked ramblers path starts about 300m from the house and winds its way through the Breton countryside. Ground floor There is a fully built in kitchen -which is brand new with a full size fridge/ freezer, cooker, microwave, washing machine, dishwasher, toaster etc. A lounge/ dining area, with comfy leather settees, armchairs, table, stereo, flat/ widescreen screen TV, DVD player. UK SKY television and radio are installed. These includes bbc1, 2, itv1, 2,3& 4, news 24, cbbc, cbeebies, Men & Motors, Golf, Radio1-5 | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

The private rear garden is accessed via a door from the ground floor. This leads directly out onto a planted terrace with garden furniture, and a barbeque. At the end of the terrace there is a lawn. Beyond the lawn are fields with totally uninterrupted distant views across the rolling countryside. The sun reaches the terrace at about 12 o'clock and stays on it until sundown.

Private, secluded off road private parking is to the side of the house. Private entrance and drive. At the front of the house there is a climber growing over an arbor. The track which runs in front of the house is very, very quiet as it only leads to a field. The photos below show the track both ways from in front of the house.
